From that first litter Di picked Bowenhurst Silver Robin with Rillaton, and he was successfully shown by her for about two years, winning a Reserve CC at Crufts.

Spurred on by Di's success I kept two puppies from my second litter, Bowenhurst Silver Boss (Becks) and Bowenhurst Intuition (Siana) and took them to their first show at Bath . There I met Josie Brooks, who offered me help in presenting and showing the dogs as she felt they had great potential.

Josie was absolutely right; Becks received his third CC at Blackpool in 2004 giving him the status of Champion: the first Pepper and Salt Champion since the legendary Ch. Isara Quella ten years before.

Since then I have had a litter with Silver Robin, and from this litter I have kept Bowenhurst Just One Look, who took the Best Puppy in Breed award at LKA in 2004 on her first outing.

Since 1985 I have also organised local meetings of a Giant Schnauzer Social Club where Schnauzer owners can meet. There is a summer barbecue and Christmas party, and about six other meetings with talks and events covering grooming, training and the like. Anyone interested in the breed – and, despite its name, Miniatures and Standards are welcome too! - is warmly invited, even just to come along and see how well-behaved Schnauzers can be!
